Erosion in action. This chunk has split off of the face behind it. Rains eat away at the rock and leave a plie of dust around the chunk. Slowly it leans over farther and farther, soon it will roll away. I have left the low desert and this is in the high desert, like 3500' elevation. Soon, I'll be in the mountains.
