Desert Spider Beetle

I found this little critter way out in the desert, near Desert Center, California. I had to chase him around a bit before cornering him in some rocks. That's when he finally slowed down enough for me to shoot him. This is a type of Blister Beetle known as a Desert Spider Beetle. They are generally a dark blue-gray, sometimes white. The yellow variety appears to be very rare. Cysteodemus armatus
