At sunset 12,968' Mt Ickes is seen from Upper Basin. I called this "Duck Lake" because a momma duck was leading her two young'uns around in it. We also saw a momma deer with a young'un. The reason we filter or boil our water around here became evident while watching the young deer peeing in the lake.
