Goldfields are a tiny flower in the sunflower family, about the size of your fingernail. Here you can see that they bloom in tremendous abundance when conditions are to their liking. There are millions of them out there! Billions, maybe. You could probably photograph this field from the Space Station! (I can't, because they won't take me up there...)     Lasthenia chrysotoma
